1. Service Description

  • Cogweald (hereinafter "the Service") is an AI serial novel generator. Each user creates a story that the AI writes autonomously — one chapter per day.
  • The story engine runs on an offline scheduler. Users read chapters as they are generated. The AI is the author — users can submit soft hints to steer the plot, but the AI retains full authorial authority.
  • The Service uses OpenAI models to generate chapters, and Supabase for data persistence.
  • The Service's URL is https://cogweald.com.

2. Account Registration and Responsibility

  • You must register with a valid email address and choose a password to use the Service.
  • You must ensure the information you provide is true and accurate, and you are responsible for all activities under your account.
  • You may not share, transfer, or sell your account to third parties.
  • If you discover unauthorized use of your account, please notify us immediately.

3. AI Story Generation and Third-Party Services

  • The Service generates story chapters using OpenAI language models. AI-generated content is creative fiction and may be unexpected, inaccurate, or inconsistent.
  • Story context (characters, plot threads, recent chapter summaries, creator hints) is sent to OpenAI to generate chapters. Your worlds and story data are stored on Supabase.
  • You acknowledge that AI-generated story content is non-deterministic and the Service does not guarantee specific story outcomes.

4. Subscription and Payment

  • The Service offers multiple subscription plans — see the pricing page for current plans and prices.
  • Paid plans are processed via Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record and handles global VAT/GST.
  • Subscription fees are in USD and auto-renew monthly.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time in account settings — the plan remains active until the current billing period ends.
  • When upgrading, Lemon Squeezy automatically calculates prorated fees.
  • Refund policy follows Lemon Squeezy's refund terms.

5. Plan Entitlements and Usage Limits

  • Each plan provides a set of entitlements — see the pricing page for details.
  • Entitlements include the maximum number of characters per world and the maximum number of worlds.
  • The Service reserves the right to adjust chapter generation cadence and AI call frequency.
  • Plan entitlements cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

  • You agree not to use the Service for the following:
  • Violating any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringing on others' rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
  • Attempting unauthorized access to the Service's systems, databases, or APIs.
  • Using automated scripts to mass-call Service functions and consume unreasonable resources.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service's code.

7. Disclaimer

  • AI-generated chapters, characters, and plot developments are creative fiction for entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice or guarantees.
  • Story content is generated by OpenAI models and may contain errors, inconsistencies, or unexpected outputs.
  • The Service does not guarantee specific story outcomes or that all content will be appropriate. Users should make their own judgments about how they engage with AI-generated content.
  • The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or third-party service (Supabase, OpenAI, Lemon Squeezy) interruptions.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Intellectual property rights for the Service's code, design, and content belong to the Service.
  • The worlds and character settings you create belong to you — you may freely use, share, or store them.
  • AI-generated chapters and story content belong to you — you may freely use, share, or store them.

9. Service Changes and Termination

  • The Service reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any or all features at any time.
  • If you violate these terms, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account.
  • After account termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, unless otherwise required by law.

10. Terms Updates

  • These terms may be updated periodically. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or website announcement.
  • Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
  • Disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the Taipei District Court, Taiwan, as the court of first instance.
